Accidents, disasters, and attacks can strike anytime. While we can’t prevent them most of the time, we can prepare ourselves to lessen their negative impacts.
Below are some helpful suggestions for getting yourself ready for emergency situations.
Always be alert
Being aware of what’s happening around you is one of the best ways to prepare yourself for any crisis. If you’re out, be alert and aware of your immediate surroundings to protect yourself.

Stock emergency items

If you or other people get hurt, you should know how to administer first aid to help alleviate pain, prevent further injuries, and even preserve life. If not properly given, however, first aid can worsen a situation, so it’s important to undergo training.
A properly trained first aid responder, for instance, will know when to perform just rescue breathing and not CPR. A basic first aid training course also often includes emergency responses to cuts, wounds, burns, broken bones, and choking.
We can’t prevent most untoward or dangerous incidents from happening. But what we can do is to prepare ourselves as best as we can for when they do happen.
